This year has been one of the most amazing and rewarding adventures I have ever experienced! I want to thank you for helping me along the way and always believing in all of us girls!! I can never tell you how much of a better person your program has made me. I now have the confidence to step into a room and walk with my head held high and meet any new person I meet. I will carry with me every memory I've made throughout the year and never forget the friendships that were formed. My awards, sash, and crown are all displayed proudly by my mom who has had just as great a time this year as I have had. Together we thank you for everything and hope that you and I continue to talk and hopefully I'll be back to represent the valley soon!! WE LOVE YOU MISS MARDI!!!!

Love,

This letter is to let you know how pleased we were to have the help of Kim White, Rachel Neville, Michelle Meyers, and Leann Miller at the Casino Night that was held on April 21, 2007 at the SCV Sports Center. They were all so helpful and pleasant and added so much to the evening. I heard many comments from the guests how wonderful they were. The Casino Night was the first event of its type that the Flame of Life Volunteers had planned. They raised over $7,000 to benefit Emergency and Trauma Services for Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. It is because of friends like the SCV Girls, our events are so successful.

Sincerely,
Terrie Cipriano

Dear Ladies,

"The SCV Press Club would like to commend each and every girl who assisted at the Newsmakers Awards on Feb. 6. Every girl presented herself like a professional and we truly could not have raised more than $1,200 for the scholarship fund without the help of the Miss SCV contingent.

Thanks from the bottom of our hearts!!!"

"The Little Miss SCV Pageant was such a wonderful experience for my daughter, Kali.  The rehearsals were fun and Ms. Mardi created  a supportive learning environment.  Speaking, walking, presentation and poise were all practiced.  The experience of public speaking and attendance at Chamber of Commerce events has increased Kali's self confidence.  Best of all, the service projects completed by the Little Miss girls have been heartwarming.  The Little Miss SCV Program is a joy to participate in for the entire family!"

"I became involved in the Miss SCV program in January 2000.  At the time I was shy and soft spoken. I have to say my involvement with this program has given me more opportunities to broaden my self-esteem and my ability to speak in public.  I now own my own business, I thank Ms. Mardi and my pageant sisters for all their support and love."

"I enjoyed all the events and people that I meet in my two years with the pageant.  In those two years I found out who I am and who I want to be.  The pageant helped me see all that I am able to do and how the smallest things can make the biggest difference.  It wasn't just the pageant that helped me become the person I am today, it was also the woman behind it all, Ms. Mardi.  Ms. Mardi stood beside all of us and encouraged us to be proud of our ideas and dreams. She helped me to share my creative side with the community. The pageant brings out the confidence in you and gives you the feeling that you can do anything. I went from a face in the crowd to an activity coordinator on stage. The pageant and Ms. Mardi have helped concur my dreams in the time I served as Miss Spirit and Miss Canyon Country. This experience is helping me today as take on a new dream of organizing a large car show in Quartz Hill!"

"My daughter Hannah (Little Miss Saugus 2003) has truely enjoyed her experience with the Miss SCV Program.  She has met many new friends through the program and the community.  She enjoys the community service events, the holidays spent with Seniors and visiting LARC Ranch.  I'm watching  her grow into a very special young lady and wanting to help others who are less fortunate than her.  I'm very proud of Hannah.  I truly see her as a role model for others."

"I would have never imagined that the Miss SCV Program would do so much for me! It shaped me into a polite, kind, mannered, and outgoing young lady which is essential for my age. I learned how to work with all your soul, even if it was something you really didn't feel like doing. I also had a total blast with all my queen sisters! It was defiantly an experience that with be with me for a life time!"

"We appreciate the young ladies of the Miss Santa Clarita Valley Program volunteering their time at the Santa Clarita Friends of City of Hope's 2nd Annual Strike Out Cancer Bowl-a-thon.  The philanthropic spirit of volunteers and donors, like these young women, make it possible for City of Hope to continue to bring hope, optimism and healing to millions around the world."

"I just wanted to say thank you. By the way, I got in to UCSD and I will be going there this fall.  I really think being involved in this program is what helped me get into the schools I applied to.  Thank you again for a great year, you can count on me to come back and do the pageant again.  I'm determined to get that regional title!  And even if I don't, another year as queen or even just being a contestant would be well worth it."

"I had the pleasure on Friday evening to work with five of your young women at the Newsmaker Awards event at the Hyatt hotel. I can't begin to tell you how impressed I was. They began the evening by helping us sell raffle tickets. They also helped in passing out awards to various nominees all around the very crowded room.

They were organized in their approach, and needed very little guidance to do the job. They are certainly much more than just 'beauty queens.' They are poised and intelligent, with a great work ethic, and a delight to meet. Thank you for the opportunity."
